Three thoughts. (1) It is not a healthy thing for the average woman to by 5'4" and a size 14. A BMI over 30 is not healthy, for men or for women. (2) Healthy women are naturally beautiful. This requires cooking and eating healthy food, like my girlfriend does for me. (3) My girlfriend has curves and I love it! I hope she never loses them.

Today's models are ugly! In the 1970s, women were natural. Now, it's practically a sin to be "pretty" as well as naturally proportioned. You're expected to have some sort of neurotic, waiflike edge, and it's tiresome.

@mpmcd81 UM. a woman who is 5'4" and 140 pounds is NOT a size 14. i'm 5'2" and 130 and i'm a very healthy size 6. i will never be boney; i'm built to be athletic. i was a size 14 when i USED to be 190 pounds. in fact, i got up to 205 before i got healthy and dropped 75 pounds. your info is off.

That's all everyone ever remembers about Karen Carpenter... the fact that she was anorexic. You know she was much more than that? We all have our own demons we fight everyday, and that was hers...

I think a lot of ED behaviours are not just influenced by the fashion industry..there's a lot more behind it. But great Vid xx

Models are nasty looking. Being that thin just freaks me out. It's all too Karen Carpenter for me.

My dream job is to be a model. But there are two things wrong with that dream. 1) I'm not tall enough. I'm 5'7". 2) I'm not skinny enough. I weigh 130.
Basically. I'm not happy with my body. I wish I looked like a model, not necissarily as bony though.
Wow, thanks for those stats-- i had no idea.
Its true, alot of people think that Marilyn was SO big, but times (as well as sizes) have changed.
