Jim Warlick is a Worthologist, one of WorthPoint's experts. He knows political buttons! He's the President and CEO of the USA Button Poll, which has accurately predicted the presidential elections (with the exception of 2004) since 1988. He also owns a political memorabilia store in the heart of Washington D.C., where you can find your candidates mug on everything from hats to cuff links and buttons. In this video he concentrates on historical political buttons.

  • Thanks so much for these great vids!

  • I have an 1864 "Lincoln For President" campaign button I found in an abandoned house, in 1960.

I saw my button featured in a magazine about 25 years ago, in an article about presidential campaign buttons.

I think I recall my button (which is constructed of brass and has in inset photo of a bearded Lincoln) was referred to as a pin-back ferro type.

The article also featured a similar button from Lincoln's 1860 campaign, but he was beardless in that photo.
