Driving my way from New haven taking shots, this was a close call. After puching through an unexpected surge we were greeted by a 4 foot surge with a 4-5 knot current......turn around and gun it. Made it home safe, by a thread!!

  • You drove right past my house, I was probably out there when you took this. I waved a lot of people off who didn't know it was worse further down. The section you went through was around a foot and a half deep at the worst, but the other section of road had 3-4 feet at around 11:15- 11:30. High tide was around 11:15.

  • @lkb3rd I guarantee your 100% correct!!!! It was scary watching that other section just become enveloped by the surge. I was fairly concerned with my car being so low I didn't even have a chance through the first part! I hope you and your family were safe throughout the storm. -Ben

  • Bandford?

  • @BDOUG23 My apologies, I was rushing to get the video up for a close family member. I ended up spelling Branford wrong; Bandford does not exist in Connecticut if you google it.....Rushing as they were skeptical about a lowered C36 AMG mercedes plowing through over a foot and a half of ocean surge. That second bout of surge before turning around would have swept us up though.
