@WorldComposer Galway has culture but I lived there and it's not a very progressive city - quite affluent and also heavily congested and no proper infrastructure. Personally, I love the north west region of Ireland (Sligo, Fermanagh) where you have the lakelands near big towns such as Sligo. Although Fermanagh forms part of a disputed territory.
@kwoolz1 I really like Galway . . . it was more of an artsy town. We were on a Paddywagon tours bus that took us everywhere. I didn't stay anywhere too long but I really got a sense of the entire country. I want to go back to Galway . . . I'll tell you that much :)
