E minor pentatonic scale, 5 different positions and 12 fret run.

E minor pentatonic

E-G-A-B-D

TO TRANSPOSE THIS TO A DIFFERENT KEY:

we would use the major scale degrees:

1, b3, 4, 5, b7.

Key of F: F, Ab Bb, C, Eb.

Key of G: G, A#, C, D, F.

Key of A: A, C, D, E, G.

Key of B: B, D, E, Gb, A.

Key of C: C, Eb, F, G, Bb.

Key of D: D, F, G, A, C.

Notice that E minor pentatonic, A minor pentatonic and D minor pentatonic have no sharps or flats.

  • thanks wizzo

  • Are those strings steel?

  • yes, slightly encrusted with the oils of my fingertips I'm sure

  • Let there be rock!

    haha

Good lesson, for the beginners. These never get old. These scales were used in China 600 years ago.

  • music is like that, its always been there, just up to the creator to discover what's there.

i don't have time to go and learn from a guitarist so thanks for posting this up!

  • WOW THIS IS VERY COOL

  • Great job and well explained! I have to say OsvaldoPaese? I have seen alot of people play these scales and not know what there playing at all! I know? I was one of them about 2 years ago. I had been playing about 23 years before I even decided to learn to read music, and im still learning the harder stuff still. Thank God for You Tube and the Great people willing to teach things like this to people. Im always learning new thing, even after 25 years now! Rock On Bro!
