I'm Already There (message from home)/When will Daddy Come Home To Stay?

It was very hard on our family while my husband was deployed. But we got through it. This is one of the poems I wrote while he was gone.

When Will Daddy Come Home To Stay?

My husband has been deployed.
He left July 3rd of 2004.
There wasn't one dry eye,
As we all waved our good-byes.

We have pictures, taken that day,
Before the plane carried him away.
Now my children ask me why,
Their daddy had to go bye-bye.

I try to explain as best I can,
But cannot make them understand.
So I will tell them all over again,
About our freedom, won, by soldiers like him.

I ask the Lord, as I kneel to pray,
For the strength to face each day.
And to help me answer when they say,
"When Will Daddy Come Home To Stay?"

My dad.. he is in the air force... has been deployed for 2 years now. I miss him, and he wont be coming home soon... Its hard t say goodbye

@ChrisHastings1 Sweety, Say something like see you later or maybe bye 4 now. But not "good-bye" because that is so final. Know that your dad still loves you and misses you as much as you miss him. Do you write to him? If not maybe you could. I think that might be a good thing for both of you. Even if you just send a card saying that you are thinking of him.

@lostgirl721 Sweety, know that he caries you always in his heart. Just because he had to go doesnt mean he stopped loving and thinking of you. Im sure he thinks of you every day. This song reminds me of my older brother. He was deployed in August of 2006......We used to be so close, and I have not seen or heard from him in over two years......I hope our soldiers come home. I cry when I watch or hear things about soldiers, I can't believe my brother left.......
