It took 19 months from flash to bang to get the twin-engine 66.5 feet wingspan UAV in the air, with a first flight on October 21. A series of missions were carried out, concluding the first phase of development before industry lead BAE Systems revealed that the Mantis had actually got airborne. Credit: BAE

  • it's BAe there's still time to double the costs and delay it 2-3 years with the govt footing the bill. many a directors villa on an island somewhere thanks to conning the MOD

  • Interesting fact: Emblazoned on the side of the craft is the logo and motto of an xbox 360 Clan and also the Gamertag of the guy who tagged it =)
