Does Anyone know How Lena horne passed? did she pass in her sleep. or was she ill for a while? I love Lena.

@erc355 Lena was at NY Presbyterian Hospital when she died. Someone said that she was being treated for another illness then had a heart attack. They think she had a DNR and was not kept alive by extraordinary means.

She was great and she knew it, but she was humble and down-to earth. She was a legend in her own time and she also knew it, but she was sincere and straightforward. She was beautiful talented, elegant and polite. She was a conservative, that's why when she passed away the liberal Hollywood and the media didn't mention it much. She lived a very special moment in history and played what the era demanded of her to the top. God Bless Her!!!!

Wow, Lena has such class and humbleness, that is so lacking with the stars today. Stars today "Know Their Great" and they love looking at themselves. She didn't like her voice, but I think that's what made her work so hard. She has a great, one of a kind voice, I don't want her to sound like Aretha, Ella, or Billie, all of them are great, but she had her own style that was lovely, no one can sound like her, in her day singers had their own style, unlike today, these girl singers sound alike.

Her last television appearance on one of my favorite television shows when I was growing up. I think I remember watching this very episode. I wish Rosie had a show like this now. This show had common respect, family oriented, and a good dose of non antidepressive positivity to it.
