This guy is either drunk or can't sing. Check this song sung by Perry Como, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley or even Al Green. This cover pays mis-tribute to such a fabulous song. Why the audience applaudes is a mystery to me.

This cover? Seems like somebody needs to do some musical history lessons. Kris Kristofferson is the writer of this song, and perhaps that's why they're applauding:) Singers like Perry Como, Dean Martin and Elvis Presley are actually covering Kris;) And which version is best is for each individual do decide.

you are absolutely right and it is a credit to him that he wrote a song with great potential as many other singers, good and bad, (Ray Price, Al Green, etc. )have shown. An yet, this man does not know how to sing.

I can totally understand why some people don't think Kris can sing. He actually points this out himself almost every concert he plays, cause he thinks so himself:) Before starting this particular show he said: "I have a really bad flu and my voice is terrible, but you probably can't tell the difference anyway"

So he knows he's not the best singer, but his voice is so raw and honest that he doesn't need to hit every note on the pitch to make the song good.

Kris was never the greatest singer, and will never be, but that is not importent, he is who he is, a great SONGWRITER singing his songs, some awsome songs at that, and thats what other singer/songwriters do, some sing better then they write, others write better then they sing, so what.

Kris wrote songs that other people sing also, thats how great he is, not every songwriter can say that about him/her-self, "i write songs that dean, elvis, perry and johnny cash sing PERIOD

Johnny Cash Willie Nelson and many others recorded his songs. It is obvious that many of you weren't there in his era or you would know just how great Kristofferson was and is. It was a different time and his music personified the culkture of the time. He sang songs of being yourself without reservation and of freedom, but also satiring things we took to seriously. Kristofferson, Prine and Dr Hook and others touche dour hearts and souls. period.

i agree with you but still his performance outplays many of those who covered his song because you can feel his emotions and that this song truly touched him one time. also you have to see that he is aging. so to all the haters: gtfo

this man is a great singer and song writer he is up there with johnny cash willie nelson and waylon jennings kris and the rest of these guys are so genuine and sincere you see it in their song writing thats one thing elvis didnt have he may have been a good singer but thats about it no really any talent at all would elvis make it today i dont thinkso

Kris cant sing ( and that are his own words), he cant really play the guitar and he doesnt really play the harp but .... wen he does it it just makes sence and is purely genius.
