This version of To The Better Man was performed at our 3-21-09 show.

All of our music is being played live without any sequencing or backing tracks. The method we use to do this is a sharing responsibility of playing bass and keyboards throughout different parts of our songs as we play our native instruments... guitar and drums.

If you are interested in knowing how we do this, visit our website @ www.thearzuniverse.com and/or contact us. We'd love to share what we do, as well as hear your comments and opinions.

  • This really reminds me a lot of that time that Rush and old Dream Theater made a baby but it only had two people. Especially those synth chords from the drummer in the chorus- that has Rush all over it. I really love this song. Who's doing those bass parts? Is the guitarist using a Midi foot controller? You both are mad talented. And now I'm off to watch the rest of your videos.

  • Jaco... first and foremost, thank you so much for the compliments! Steve and I are really glad you liked the song.

As far as the bass parts being played, Steve is taking care of those with his MIDI guitar. He usually programs the top 2 strings to trigger bass tones on his keyboard. The classical guitar training he has enables him to play interdepentant rhythms between his fingers and thumb with a finger style technique.

  • le son est très moche ...

  • I love this. Great playing. One of the standout things is the guitar solo with the whammy pedal. reminds me of Pat Metheny a little.
