Piece: Soundtrack Highlights from Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (selections include "Hoist the Colours," "Singapore," "One Day," "Up Is Down," and "Drink Up Me Hearties")
Composer: Hans Zimmer
Arranger(s): Ted Ricketts and Joshua Cole
Group: West Virginia State University Wind Ensemble, Scott E. Woodard
Conductor: Joshua Cole
Descriptiion: This was the second of two student conductors concerts (April 22, 2011) that WVSU does for its beginning and advanced student conductors, which I am of the latter. I did not care for Ted Ricketts ending to this arrangement, so I rearranged "Drink Up Me Hearties" so it's more like what Hans Zimmer composed for the movie. I first switched around a couple parts that Ricketts arranged to put them in the correct order, then I arranged new material beginning when I go into a two pattern at 5:16. The sound quality is not the best because it's from the ensembles view so some parts are heard more than others and some are hard to hear.
@jollethebig, Thank you. You may have noticed a bar early entrance by a tuba player a measure before the two bars of 4/4 (which is a sustained note) before "Singapore" begins. It threw some people off, but luckily the group followed me.
