Does this have the same annoyingly prominent upper mid-range that p90s are known for? I can't tell for sure from the video.

@Anitrop hmmmmm...I typically play pretty clean so an upper mid would maybe give a bit of definition with out sounding too harsh due to the fact there is very little distrotion....I tend to favor my HB gibsons for playing dirty....one day I will pull out my PRS Hollow body and see what happens when I crank thing up but so far I have been pretty happy with the P92s.

Would you say those pickups are close to genuine P90's or are they very much their own thing?

@EuropeFactor I think they have a bite and airiness that has a P90 vibe...I also think that they are great but, I am not sure if they get as much growl...very nice PUs but I would want to put them into LP (or something similar) to be able to say the nail a P90 sound...I like what they do for my PRS

Thanks for this video. These are the exact pickups I'm considering for my Les Paul. Do you think they'll have better clarity

@EuropeFactor yes they will have a nice clarity and some bite....I would have no problem throwing them into my LP...fralin PUs are great and I would also suggest you take a look at lollar p90ish HB type of PU..just to see which would work best for you...peace

I wish I could specfically remember but, I typically go with low winds and if I need more boost I hit the amp with a boost pedal...sometimes a clean boost, sometimes a germanium boost..

they are great PUs....I just went through a phase where I played my PRS hollowbody a lot and, I used a 1965 fender princeton amp...just wonderful..

.I think the fralins work well with any amp type but, I will play them through a few more of my amps and get back to you...

also, I would sugest taking a look a jason lollar HB P90 type PUs...I have really loved all my lollar PUs....peace

Sounds good.  Thinking about dropping some of these into my thinline telecaster. What woods is your PRS made from? How would you rate them on the Fender blues sound through that EL84 tube amp? Thanks, man!

if I remember right...I gave a call to one of the dealers and and did talk a little bit...also jason lollar has come out with a P90ish type HB so, I would take a look...given that I really love all the lollar PUs I have...peace
