These commercials aired on NBC on January 30th, 1982

1. Straw Hat Pizza (With Tim Conway! I totally remember that weird brown logo)
2. Time Magazine (It seems like the only time I actually read magazines anymore is when I wait to get a haircut)
3. Promo for "World War III"
4. Promo for "The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson"
5. Friends of the Family Councelling Center
6. Pioneer Chicken ($1.59 for a fast food meal? Crazy!)
7. Bell System (The dog catching the bouquet is amazing)
8. KNBC News Brief
9. U.S. Navy (But what are three sailors going to do on shore leave in Asia? Oh, wait...)
10. Playtex (With Brenda Vaccaro)
11. M&M's (Even ungrateful little yuppie larva can make friends through the magic of candy)
12. KHITS 97 (With...Charlie Tuna? LOL OMG. I love the distant look on his face when he's listening to those sweeet sounds)
13. Odor Eaters
14. Porsche Audi Dealers

  • @GAP4EVER Bell Gardens here I come!

  • @djspair There is still one left in Bell Gardens, California!!!

  • @troodon311 I know, we built this city on rock and roll dammit.

  • I'm not sure it's strictly honest to present the Navy as basically a vacation service to exotic cities.

Brenda Vaccaro was 7 years removed from an Oscar nomination, and she was doing tampon commercials? I hope she fired her agent about that time.

I don't know who was responsible for that kid's wardrobe, but someone should have clued that family in that a suit and tie is not appropriate for a farm.

Night Crossing opened in 640 theaters, so the Chinese wasn't the only place showing it in LA.

  • That telephone commercial at 2;30 or so--that's a lost world. It's so different today.

  • I remember that M&M's commercial, thinking that truck is going to run over that chicken.

  • K-HITS 97 Is Now CHR/Pop 97-1 AMP RADIO

  • How is Los Angeles supposed to be said? I hear it here (and on KCOP idents) as "LOWS ANGELES" and everywhere its said "LOSS ANGELES".

I didn't know America had such athletic actors competing for the Golden "GLOVE" awards LOL

Too bad they didn't show the other "technical" training one could receive in Hong Kong in that Navy ad....

AWESOME to finally *see* Charlie Tuna, the voice of TV's Americas Top 10 during this time period.

They didn't let Mr. Bozeman finish the Night Crossing ad :(

  • 3:01 The news brief spot...LOL! All those actors won the "Golden Glove" Awards, eh? I didn't know they could box!

  • Time Magazine: "I read it for the sports." Really?
