  • I am not sure what you are meaning to make a point on @berntsen but in trying to answer you, modern running shoes can often, not allow the natural movement of the foot to occur, which in time has an effect of letting the correct mechanics of a

foot -arch-ligament connection ,atrophy to the point of when you do get around without shoes the load bearing capacity is diminished.

  • well i think iam going o still run in shoes becuase i don't want to step on nails or something.and iam new to running and iam going to be getting fit for my first running shoe pretty soon any advice

  • @duffinsmert as you are new to running It would be better for you to start without shoes so you get correct running technique. I am not a trained medical person and do not dispense advice to be followed with Authority but all shoe fitting is bulshit and only designed to sell expensive gear that encourages incorrect running form that will injure you eventually. As for stepping on nails get over it you gain more awareness of your running surface going Barefoot

  • I think you should treat your sisal with beeswax to smooth, strengthen and waterproof that material.

  • would it not be the same load on the foot(plantar fascia), if you do forefoot running in running shoes or barefoot? .. I mean you would have to run with heelstrike to avoid this kinda injury(I have changed to forefoot myself)

  • @SuperApparition Ha Ha ,you are most likely right about the dog pooh and shoes. hey take a video or some pics of your huarache making and it would be great to post them on the blog and share your story, look forward to your story.

  • @watzzupsport Thanks. You know what, I reckon the best way to step in dog poo is in bare feet. Cleaning dog poo from your feet (unfortunately I do it regularly) is much, much easier that cleaning it from Asics or Nikes with crevices and ditches all over the place. My only fear with (semi) barefoot running is how much making huaraches is costing me. My God, I should have just bought those KSO Treks. Making the perfect huarache sandal is becoming both an obsession and very, very challenging. Bye.

  • @SuperApparition I hope he hears what you are saying, could not agree more with what you are saying. Some people have a difficulty getting through the idea that evil will befall them if they do not have shoes on. The biggest fear I see directed at me is stepping in dog Pooh LOL .... are you running with your eyes closed.

  • @zaaz369 Try running barefoot first. You'll change your opinion.

  • what injuries are you talking about. If you train in bare feet you will learn how to run efficiently which helps with common running injuries.
