@jonathanaconway Appeasement? Are you fucking kidding me? We've been fighting with these people since 1953.
-
@Madfoot713 Incidentally, they did bomb the Danish embassy in Pakistan in response to Mohammed cartoons, and bombed a bus in London. So Europe is also being attacked. They are against all western-style democracies in which freedom of speech, dress, women, etc are tolerated, because these freedoms stand in opposition to their ideal of Islamic theocracy. In the name of "freedom" you are defending some of the worst offenders of freedom in the world in their attacks against the best! Shame on you!

@Madfoot713 Whatever their alleged reasons, if they want to destroy America then they want to destroy YOU. Appeasement doesn't work with schoolyard bullies, neither does it work with a national enemy. They haven't got a rational leg to stand on when calling for America's destruction because they themselves are brutal mobs/dictatorships which have no right to exist, as they do not respect even on a basic level the rights of their own citizens. America is freer and thus more moral than they are.
-
@jonathanaconway Yes. They want to destroy America. They have also explained why. There are secular, non-irrational reasons why religious nutjobs might want to destroy us, and not Norway or Sweden.
-
@Madfoot713 Look up "9/11", "1993 World Trade Center bombing", "Iran hostage crisis". These Islamic Jihadists want to destroy America. Their leaders have said so. Their religion says so. Their actions in the past decades have said so. If you are rationally selfish and care about your safety, and the safety of the freest country on earth, there is simply no excuse for continuing to appease and "negotiate" with proven criminals.
-
@jonathanaconway Look up on YouTube, "Disturbing images from Iran you rarely see".
-
@jonathanaconway Half of Europe is secular and free, but you don't see them bombing the Eiffel Tower.
-
@Madfoot713 And why was the US supplying arms to various countries the first place? Why, of course, to respond to their threats in a "non-violent', "diplomatic" way, by trying to manoeuvre around a conflict instead of facing it upfront. Instead of bombing North Korea, Iran and others, America paid off different sides in an effort to avert a conflict.
-
@Madfoot713 What the US has done to those countries from time to time, as pathetic half-hearted responses to THEIR initiation of threats/violence is INSIGNIFICANT compared to what they've done to eachother and to their own citizens - civil wars, dictatorships, torture, public executions, almost total repression of rights. E.g. religious police of Saudi Arabia locking schoolgirls in a burning building because they didn't wear a headscarf. To compare these tyrants to America is an obscenity.
-
@Madfoot713 Rubbish. They believe America is evil because America is a secular country, where people are free to be individuals and aren't forced to bow to a totalitarian Islamic state. They are envious of the existence of a nation that is a living refutation of their whole bankrupt ideology. The only reason they still have the guts and motivation to continue is because of America's weak, cowardly permissiveness of hostage-taking, threats, bombings, and finally, 9/11.
I support Classical Liberalism

Good post. To me, anarchocapitalism does make sense as the logical conclusion of classical liberalism philosophically, but it's very impractical at the moment. All of the anarchocapitalists who are not bothering to vote for Ron Paul are getting ahead of themselves. A Ron Paul presidency is a step in the right direction (albeit a small one). We also need to become WAAAAYYY more self-sufficient as well. If we take the necessary steps, then one day the state will be rendered irrelevant.
