@rabidninja of being attacked if you are sitting down or crouched stationary . Mountain lions stalk and then pounce on their prey and are not really willing to give long chase to animals .

@rabidninja That is not always the case . Animals can be upredicatable and you can't ever be sure that a technique will work . Mountain lions are solitary animals and try to avoid humans . Many times they will leave if you make yourself look larger than the mountain lion but young males can be a problem . Young males do not know what is dangerous to them yet and will do almost anything to establish their territory . Actually , mountain lions dont really pursue prey . You have a better chance

@HidanKitten32 No that's definitely a mountain lion =) Many baby animals have spots or stripes for camouflage even though they don't have them as adults. (African) lions have spots too as cubs^^

@ludakrook911 if you stand up tall to a mountain lion, yelling and screaming, it backs down, its when you turn and run that they chase and pounce.

Aw! They're so cute as kittens, and they grow up to be beautiful cats. I love cougars. Wouldn't want to meet one in the wild, though. Any more than I'd want to meet an F5 tornado. All that raw power is fascinating, beautiful, and deadly.
