Katie Couric comments on the unfortunate process of jury duty. It is a shame that in a tough economy we have to choose between being a good citizen and being a good provider.

  • I wished it was an hour... it is $10 a day. Company policy is that I get my work salary, and I get to keep the jury duty money... and if the jury duty day lasts 3 hours or more... like say 3 1/2 hours... I don't have to report into work for that day.

  • I've always found the easy way out is to take a jury doody on the courthouse floor.

  • Really? Is that $10 an hour or what? Cos if it is, why not use Jury duty as like a temporary employment plan for the unemployed. That would solve a lot of problems.

  • I just got my first jury duty summons two weeks ago. I am excited about it! My company has a policy where I will still be paid salary, plus the county will pay me $10, and I get to listen to all the local controversy. Sweet!
