Carlo Juan was awarded Honorable Mention in the recently concluded 2009 National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA). He is currently finishing his Bachelor's Degree in Music, major in Guitar Performance, minor in Cello, at the Philippine Women's University School of Music, under the tutelage of Benchito Cariño. He had attended master classes with Theresa Calpotura, Miguel Trapaga, and Michael Dadap.

Is so good to hear fellow pinoys playing the classical guitar. I've always wonder why there aren't as many classically being that the Philippines were under Spanish rule for such a long time. When I do find one here it's always such a gift. Very nice playing!
