They're both statements on the inherent contradictions of capitalism.
But tim's is simple and preachy.
Stza's is dark, multi-faceted, and humorous.
Making boxes for other boxes its fucking genius dude, it recalls critiques of man's tools enslaving man. Man creates a car so he can move around fast, but soon it becomes a habit man has to feed. Soon it is a full blown addiction we must build new roads, provide maintenance for the roads, prosecute multiple wars to get fuel for the tool, etc.

poppy bullshit dude come on. Its all chorus and the lyrics are too simple minded. This shit is for mtv. Listen to stza thats real shit. example: tim says "in decadence we drown ourselves"
stza sez "making boxes/for other boxes"
Both of those are statements about overconsumption/fashionable consumption. But one is simple USA Today, viacom, clear channel words to dumb you down. The other is placed in a context that can continue to be interpreted in different ways. it is challenging, not easy.
