Is anyone else expecting him to just bust into "Panasonic Youth" or "Sugar Coated Sour"?

Technically speeking, Pennie is much better than Josh Eppard. However, I actually prefer Josh over Chris....for simple reasons. He has a cooler style in my opinion...and he only used a single pedal. Eppard could play double strokes on the bass drum like no other...amazing.
But I do think Pennie will bring a different side out of Coheed. and I can't say i'm going to complain about that much, cuz it will be incredible.

"WE WROTE THESE PLANS!!!" hahaha

you are a retard you just basically called Claudio and Travis shitheads because they have solos. Even freakin Mic has a solo now. you are a shallow moron who cant except change

His drumming is too clean for me. Have you heard the Willing Wells on Good Apollo 1? They're some of the best written, played out drum parts I've heard on nearly any album. It's insanely unique, and Josh plays it with such a smooth groove, you would think that you could play it yourself. Pennie is cool, but Josh is awesome.

well thats complete bullshit, thats like saying that their first 3 albums were utter crap, and you know how well those albums were put together, how can you say that he was sloppy when his beats were so tight, and just fit the music perfectly? maybe you need some lessons in theory and should learn some basic timing.
-
i agree with everything you said, i mean have you heard the drums in their new album? i know that the drummer that played on the album was the one from Foo Fighters, but pennie had still helped out on the album. had it been josh playing, maybe i would listen to the new coheed.

Josh obviously has something to be proud of, because he didnt have to show off his skills by doing a solo to prove he was good. those amazing beats he made for all of the songs from before their latest album, were just so soulful, and that style just cant be matched. sure chris could copy those beats, but he cant play them as well as josh.
I think that you should calm down, because its not like i dissed chris, he is still a great drummer... and who are you? but another faceless youtube poster.
-
because, unlike josh, he has something to be proud of?
they kicked out josh, and WANTED pennie. I think claudio sanchez would know better than a faceless youtube poster. get over yourself.
josh never needed his own solos to make himself look good. chris is taking the spotlight away from claudio and the rest of the band. pretty queer imo

I don't really have an opinion on one drummer vs. the other, cause I'm just not good at judging a drummer, but on this song, every single person had a 5 minute solo.

do you mean whenever coheed plays the final cut, every member has a five minute solo, even back in the josh days? i dont mean to sound standoffish, but ive never seen josh play a solo. this is the first time ive seen a drum solo from coheed and cambria.

I'm not saying anything about either drummer, I don't have a preference. All I'm saying is that no one was taking the spotlight away. At the 3 performances I saw them at this year, The Final Cut turned into back and forth solos. Plus, its pretty hard to take the spotlight off of Claudio during most of their set, what with his solos, yelling into the pickups, playing the theremine, and playing behind the head :D
