Mini-documentary about Saya Naomi Diaz Deleon, a drag performer in Chicago, IL with behind-the-scenes and stage shots. Including an interview with Christina Kahrl, trans-community liaison at the Center on Halsted in Boystown, with her take on what a drag queen is and how the performance is a way to push gender boundaries while also being a form of artistic impression.
Shot, edited and packaged by Tara S. Kerpelman in August 2009 in Chicago, IL.
The commentator often sounds condescending which makes this difficult to watch since she is the only narrator.

Fun. This work helped me explore my own capacity to accept. Fun! Also I recalled back in the day when my kids' Mom was an AIDS social worker to a big San Jose drag queen. We went to a show of his and met him afterwards. I still get a kick recalling how he flirted with me bigtime, in an over-the-top dragqueen way. Yours, Marc
