@JD12ish HORSE1492. 01/10/02/2011 A.D. I CARE DEEPLY ABOUT HISTORY AND ANYONE ELSE WHO DOES NOT WILL NEVER LEARN MUCH ABOUT ANYTHING OR ANYONE.

Full bosh... First, what attitude has it to the Soviet history? The USSR was the unique country in the world where hundreds nationalities lived in the world and were equal among themselves. Secondly, ridiculously to hear it from Englishmen who коллонизировали a floor of the World and have ruined most people, only in Ireland they have killed 2\3 the population famine. It is inept attempt to hide the crimes before mankind.

кому чухаешь ....найди хоть одного родственика "репрессированых"..пол года искать будешь...

@immantiat Of course it’s good that the crimes of the Soviet regime are finally coming to light however simply equating them to those of Nazi Germany without the slightest consideration of historical background, context or facts creates an equally mutilated history.
At the same time it’s worrying how other crimes, like those of Fascist Italy or Japan, though both very well documented and known to historians, remain completely obscure to the general public.
-
@immantiat You are right! People don't care much about history; to them WWII was a simple affair of evil Nazis vs. “Good Guys" and the Jews as the victims, the end. The reality was endlessly more complex and today literally millions of victims have been simply forgotten, notably the victims of Russian crimes but also Russians as victims. It’s good seeing that this is slowly changing though I believe the film Soviet Story is an excruciatingly BAD example of this.

Who does not know its history is not worthy of their future .... Russia does not want to know the past, then does not want future

и все в 1 голос денег требуют. Почему же о репрессиях Средняя Азия молчит? И почему в каждой из этих наций "рекордное" кол-во погибших
German army has been spot continously for its past. This is kind of a catharsis for the german people. Red Army has never faced its actions in Eastern Europe or other occupied countries. That silence can poison a Nation and eventually affect it...in the colective thinking.

Латвия, Украина, Польша, Молдова, Грузия и т.д. в один голос говорят о репрессиях, насилии, смертях... неужели это не заставляет задуматься...?!!
