I am so happy I finally got a Cintiq. The 12wx has plenty of room to draw and it is totally worth the $1000. You can find them refurbished for $800, but they only come with a 1 year warranty.

There is hardly any learning curve because it is like drawing on paper. You will not have to take forever to get clean lines like it does with a tablet. If you can already get clean lines with a pencil or pen, you will be able to do it on this no problem.

Get a Cintiq if you can!

How often does it lag with the VGA and will my 24hd be horrible if I use the VGA. Only because my laptop doesn't have the dvi.

I just bought the 12wx off of Newegg. I cant wait! I have experience with the 21UX but I couldn't spring the $2K for it. I'll probably upgrade to it eventually though.
