www.tstc.edu DaimlerChrysler College Automotive Program... A specialization in Automotive Technology at Texas State Technical College.

Today's automotive technicians enjoy excellent careers. With thousands of job openings, the automotive repair field offers virtually unlimited positions, salaries and growth potential. Automotive Technology graduates qualify for positions such as automotive service technician, service adviser, service consultant, auto parts specialist, parts sales or service manager.

Upon completing the AUT program, graduates may apply for various types of professional certification offered by organizations such as the ASE and ATRA. Many dealerships and companies will only hire individuals who hold these certifications.

Employers want technicians who can: * follow directions; * analyze and diagnose problems; * display professional work ethics and practices ; * repair vehicles properly the first time; * work well with others; * maintain an orderly work area; and * practice safety.

Graduates must apply in-depth diagnostic and problem-solving skills as they make general and specialized mechanical repairs.

Today's vehicles are so electronically advanced and computerized that the automotive industry requires technicians with specialized education and skill ... advanced training and abilities.

The Automotive Technology program at Texas State Technical College Waco is offering the DaimlerChrysler College Automotive Program (CAP) specialization through a partnership between DaimlerChrysler Corporation and TSTC Waco. The CAP automotive program is designed to upgrade the technical competency and professionalism of the incoming dealership technician.

The curriculum, designed by DaimlerChrysler Corporation and TSTC Waco, provides hand-on training on the latest vehicles, components, and instructional materials utilizing high-tech diagnostic equipment.

In addition to your college training, you'll also be offered the opportunity to serve as an intern at a participating Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep dealership, where you'll get on-site training under the direction of master technicians. You'll not only learn about repair procedures for DaimlerChrysler vehicles, but also dealership service operations.

The Automotive Technology program, ranked the leader in post-secondary automotive education, features approximately $3 million worth of the latest equipment and laboratories. AUT is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation and its instructors are certified by Automotive Service Excellence.
