  • I guess that's why they make chocolate and vanilla. IntuneDan doesn't have to like it. He's entitled to his own opinion. I totally disagree with his opinion.

  • I do know that Bill complemented many versions of his songs. He would join in a jam with this version as well as his on. I love it when music can breath from the heart of the player. I'm also glad we don't all like the same things. It truly would be a boring place. This from just another nobody picker that love both versions and all the others.

  • Neat video -- I really liked all the images -- was that the burger king making a cameo in there? The jazzed up version of JR didn't do that much for me but sounds like the crowd loved it!

  • then would it be safe to say you don't enjoy any grisman stuff?

  • Wow, IntuneDan is kind of an inflexible tight ass, wouldn't you say? Good music and good musicianship has no boundaries buddy.

  • The virtuosity of the musicians can't be questioned, however their modern jazz interpretation of the Monroe / Baker mountain melody misses the ancient feel of the original by a wide mark. I would much prefer hearing this combo interpret a Charlie Parker or Miles Davis tune. Mixing this type of jazz approach with a modal bluegrass melody is like pouring chicken gravy on chocolate ice cream. I love them both but not when they're mixed together.

  • this is awsom..

  • one of the best versions of this song ive ever heard on the mandolin!!! this was very good..
