Derren Brown Interview (5/6) - Richard Dawkins

Not really mate, we know that whatever he is doing isn't real. He tells us that. The only reason are offended are because they want to believe or are annoyed that they can be tricked so easily. He does use hypnosis, and NLP techniques. Or though it is sometimes debateable as to what hypnosis really is and wjhat you think it is.

I like how they're standing through the whole hour and a half interview.

I would say Derren looks quite uncomfortable throughout this interview & I have to guess that's because he's being hypercritical. On the one hand he is condemning charlatans for tricking the unsuspecting ie: mediums, tv programmes etc.. But he does exactly the same, he is also tricking the unsuspecting into believing his false explanations for his tricks. He doesn't use hypnosis, his books are bullsh*t.. like all magicians/mentalist he uses magnets & gadgets. POT, KETTLE, BLACK come to mind.

People need to lay off him, the events werent a hit, but his attempt to advance his skills

what u mean 'you know' but then say he's been 'honest'.. obviously you don't know. He is NOT'honest' about what he is doing, that is the point, he's a hypocrite here. He also got complacent taking the piss of stupid people with 'The Events' and it backfired, how stupid does he think people are?

He is being honest about the fact that he isnt psyhci, its all illusion etc...
But people still want to see these so called "tricks etc"... perhaps his explanations are on some*basis* of truth.. not completely telling us the whole truth isn't exactly lying."The events" was crap, I agree, but he is trying to "fool" people even more than he has done previously.. People know that they are being fooled but go for the entertainment. Lighten up...

I bet if C.S. Lewis was still alive, he'd be able to correct Dawkins on a number of things.

I think psychic people/tarot card readers are just as nieve and idiotic as muslims or anyone else who follows a religion. Its all bullshit and every religion claims to know the answer when the fact is that they dont. Watch Zeitgeist movie

It's funny how people watch Zeitgeist and are so fast to make up their mind. Same with people who believe in something. Ultimately, we hear what we want to hear.

Zeitgeist was a good film, but they have no proof that it isn't true just as much as religion has no proof that a god exists.

In the end, we have an inconclusive answer. WE DO NOT KNOW.
