B - 2007 CFV Tecolutla, Veracruz MX VIDA MILENARIA , 1st Visit & Release

The 1st morning after we arrive at Tecolutla, Veracruz MX, we go to VIDA MILENARIA for a baby sea turtle release. These usually occur early in the morning and make for a really nice activity before a huge breakfast and a wonderful siesta. There's a little souvenirs kiosk there on the site where they offer a wide variety of things for sale, from t-shirts to figurines. When you purchase something, the staff give you a little ticket. When you go down the the beach with a group of other visitors, you trade-in the ticket for the opportunity to release a baby sea turtle or two. It's great fun, part of the enjoyment of which is spending time with total strangers from another country who also have an affinity for animals and for teaching their children to value them.
