This is the famus heart opening.This opening was used only when the ILL had it's reruns.

Incidentally, in the original openings, the big box which has the TV LAND logo in this video, was a giant pack of Philip Morris cigarettes, the show's sponsor.

These openings were later replaced with the "heart-on-satin" opening when the show was sold into syndication. TV Land brought these newly re-edited openings, along with newly restored prints, which contained some bits cut from the episodes for syndication commercials.

I miss the old, original, tongue-in-cheek TV Land channel.

TV Land re-edited some of the original "I Love Lucy" openings and commercial break lead-ins when it brought the show over from Nick at Nite. That was back in the good ol' days of the channel, when they were actually fun to watch... with their Block Party Summers, VertiVision, Green-tinting on St. Patrick's Day, the schtick TV Land commercials, etc.

It appears that this was digitized from a videocassette recording, so the quality can't improve much.

the heart opening was not the original opening...TV Land recreated a more original looking open that would have been seen for the original series.

Yes also not seen but can Tvland will reshow the longer open credits  sponsor for lucky stripes cigs.....to i seen them
