This Product Review is the first part of a 3-part series about this airplane and how to update older designs to todays requirements. The Falcon 56, and its larger brother the Senior Falcon, have probably introduced more RC pilots to the sport than all other trainers combined. I am not certain when a Goldberg Falcons wings first lifted the airplane from the earth, but I do know that it was at least 45 years ago.

  • Nice, but a couple points,

Is is a Mark II yes? Set up for 3 channel or has the dihedral for 3 channel flight.

Looks nose heavy, and also overpowered.

Also the nose down stance forces you to extend the rollout.

This model flies much, much better with a .35

  • This is the Goldberg Falcon 56 ARF as now sold by Tower Hobbies. The dihedral is as specified and is the same as from 50+ years ago. The Max .46 does overpower the airplane but rolling vertical maneuvers are fantastic. The ground angle is as specified in directions. The full review, including a 1962 Falcon uncovered is in Model Aviation's Sport Aviator on-line magazine in the On The Flight Line Section under Advanced Trainers. Frank G. -Editor

  • let me guess yours has the round tail?

if so ,is the old falcon hard to find kit ,

they fly really nice ,i had one and i sold it now i can`t get it back or find a kit of it

  • Go to Tower Hobbies and order the Goldberg ARF Falcon 56. This airplane is that kit. It is reviewed in Sport Aviator in the On The FLight Line Section - Advanced Trainers. Frank G. - Editor

  • This is a great airplane, I learned on this model and still have it. Using an OS .40 too, it's great and gets you ready for even better stunt planes

  • I must have built 25 of these for beginner planes. I'd build the wings with Zero Dihedral, with a little tip twist, and make the wings bolt on. With the use of the OS Max .40 engine, this configuration would allow someone to solo and then have a plane to learn aerobatics.

  • dam i was lookin for the wrestler Goldberg wtf is this lol

  • I learned to fly RC in 1973 with a falcon 56, Great plane, i had a Fox .25 in it, the plane flew great, the engine was good the carb was a pain in the ass, made many a dead stick landing, i still have a Sr Falcon 56 and a Falcon 56 new in the boxs, never opened bought around 74 or 75 at a hobby shop that was closeing. hope to build for my grandson. good Video, thanks T.G.

  • @Etorresdeltoro its my first plane

  • @modelaircraft I thought it was an old Falcon 56. It looks like it is modeled after the Falcon 56 Mark II, but the dihedral looks like it is for a 3 channel setup. The original kit could be built for 3 channels or 4 channels.

The Falcon 56 was my first R/C plane back in 1979...
