@MrGustySpence The reason "why it matters" is because they unknowingly employed the odd catholic once a decade or so - something fishy!
"to try and keep them away from the protestant soup kitchens, fact" - evidence of this fact then please? By they way,you couldn't mean the same "protestant" businesses that banned catholics at the beginning of the 20th century?
The old Jock Stein rumour.Go see why Jock chose to go to Leeds United, and keep quiet.
@Gdyear1916 why does it matter if it was a "high profile" catholic? the fact is there was many catholics before mo johnston, really confused as to why the profile of them means anything? and yes founded to feed poor and homeless CATHOLIC children of glasgows east end to keep them away from protestant soup kitchens, fact. why was jock stein not allowed to become a director at celtic? think u may find it was because he was protestant. one school many cultures?? what do u think declan?
Even Rangers fans that I know, know it. .... and it's well known anyway so stop arguing,Rangers refused to sign a high profile catholic until Mo Johnstone.
It wasn't created "primarily for catholic's" you stupid, deluded idiot so thanks for proving your lack of knowledge.
Celtic was founded 'by' and Irish catholic to help raise money to feed the poor and homeless children of the east end of Glasgow - again, fact.
@Gdyear1916 They didn't ban Catholic's from the club, Celtic Fc was created primarily for Catholic sports and leisure activity because they couldn't assimilate with the mostly Scottish community and they shared their political views for "Sein Feinn" by raising a tricolour above Parkhead whilst Rangers (Protestants) were proud to be British so raised a Union flag and a hand of Ulster above Ibrox.
