The Froodian Analysis (Film Theory Version)

This is my project for Film Theory class. I'm not really fond of Freud and psychoanalysis. It makes sense sometimes but sometimes it's outrageous - so I made fun of him on what he would say on something so normal.

If you're a Film Theory buff. This regard the essays from Wollen and Barthes.

Wollen discusses Auteur theory, where he states that a director can have certain traits and themes in his/her series of films. For example, Hitchcock has a popular theme of the wrong man being accused for a crime he didn't do and the whole film is focused on the character running away or suffering from the guilt complex, feeling guilty for someone else.

Barthes, on the other hand, states that we shouldn't rely on the director or the critic to understand a film because it gives unnecessary power to them. The power should be in the reader, in everyone, who watches the film.

This also relate to psychoanalysis where it's a dominant/mainstream type of criticism that we use in our daily lives yet how do we know if it's valid? we just use it to find an explanation for unexplainable behavior.
