This is a part of a djembe acoustic set we did after our cajon series. The next 3 songs in this series will all be done on the djembe, but most importantly they are all my favorite worship songs. I have been blessed to be able to add my own flavor to these songs and really make them unique to how they were originally recorded.

This is my absolute favorite worship song of all times. I was blessed to be able to record this song years ago, before there was even a second verse:) Jesus is the Lord is a song that literally can change the temperature of the room. There are times where we do the chorus and bridge so many times, that the only reason we stop is because the singers are loosing their voices. When the opening guitar part plays people stand up, or get on their knees and the entire room is lifting their hands and hearts to Jesus, simply out of expectancy of what God is about to do.

There are parts of the song that the audio is out of sync, but we did our best:) All of the djembe songs were done in 1 take unlike the cajon songs that took multiple takes. So I am sure that we matched the audio with the right video tracks:)

  • Ladies and gents, that is how you play a djembe. Nice job

  • @staciepaul Now thats the best compliment yet:) Thanks so much!

  • Great job on the djembe.. How did you manage to get the different tones to come out so clearly, what kind of mics did you use and how do you eq your live sound with these hand drums like the djembe and the congas? Good work!

  • @calebbrauer Thanks, I am actually working on a video to show sound info, just haven't had the time yet. I was using a Shure Beta 98D/S for this recording. It is a great mic, very expensive too, however the only downfall, is that is does not pick up the lows as much as I like. Do realize too, that the audio was recorded on this to get a better sound, so what you are hearing is something that had been clean and ran through tubes to warm the tones, however it is still close.

  • Not a fan of "worship music" (really, no offense-to each his own) but just as a fellow Djembe Player, Well done! The song sounded really good.

  • @L0ve4music4life Thanks so much, being that you are not into worship music, I take that even more as a compliment, so I appreciate it a lot!

  • @cstaley39 hahahaha I am cracking up! You have a great attitude brother and that is a good thing! Perhaps we will be able to worship together one day soon!

  • @john5699 Thanks so much man...funny that you said that about the smile...My mentor has been working on stage presence with me lately and it has actually been good...my old drummer face was terrible..it looked like all the muscles in my face went limp...sometimes I would even drool on accident:)...So I am working on it:)
