There's just something about Alesana's music that comes off as "otherworldly". In a good way haha. Same thing with Muse. I don't personally believe that there is a proper genre to classify Alesana. They are just simply amazing :)

They've matured. Their music is much more complex now (I especially love the face that their albums are inspired by literature). What I believe you're complaining is that they're not as heavy as they use to be, if so, then try out the much heavier songs of the album. Ex. The Fiend (my favorite off of the entire album), A Forbidden Dance, and Circle VII: Sins of the Lion.
