Bulldog Tools have been manufacturing tools for over 200 years. To give the tools the strength they need, we use the highest quality of sustainable ash for our handles. This video shows the process which we use in manufacture. The wood is turned to size and sawn down the grain at one end, it is then steamed. Once at the correct temperature the timber is then split and pushed into a cast. After 3 days drying it is removed from the cast, ready for sanding and handling. The handle is then riveted in place, and any rough edges sawn and removed. It is now ready for staining and varnishing.
