Does anyone know how old that horn is? Looks like it might be from the early part of the 20th century. Great short solo by the way.
The trombone is additionally one of the earliest brass instruments. It predates the valve trumpet by a few hundred years.
There are some ancient frescos(sp?) - usually Italian from the Renaissance - that depict angels playing them in the clouds(presumably Heaven) in a choir-like setting.
