A look at my LTD JH-600. I bought it about 6 months ago and it is an excellent guitar. It has a maple neck, neck thru, alder body, kahler tremolo and EMg 81/85 pickups. There are 3 parts because I wanted to discuss the kahler in detail as there is a controversy here on youtube and it seems that this has become a very popular guitar lately, and rightly so.

  • is it possible to replace the kahler bridge with an original floyd rose?

  • @HerrDehumanized I`ve never tried but I think it is possible to swap a kahler for a floyd. Unless someone knows for sure if you check the routing templates that would tell you for sure.

  • i have solved the bending/diving issue by using Big Bends' String Sleeves (cut in half), so that THEY ride the cam, & NOT the strings. i no longer have ANY probs switching between finger bending & whammy diving, and i don't even have a string lock on my lp/sg. as an added precaution, i VERY occasionally use big bend's nut sauce where the string sleeves curve around the cam. trust me, i have had NO tuning issues since doing this! i can bend & dive ALL DAY LONG, & stay in tune...

  • @badmuddy, you deserve a paycheck from Big Bends!!!! How exactly do you do this? You've got to make a video and post it as a response to all those other crappy videos (mine included) about Kahler's bending issues!! Let me know how it's done!!!! Awesome!!!

  • how high are the bends u do that make the string go flat?

  • @geicowithdagheko1 on the low e, a, and d strings 1/2 step will come back in pitch but anything more will come back flat. For the high e, b, and g 1 1/2 comes back flat.

  • @badmuddy AND, it increases the unit's sustain & volume CONSIDERABLY (& measurably)... & i've also created 2 secondary attachments for some alternate methods of whammi-fyzin'/whamm-utizin'! VERY usable, and to the point of eventually feeling naked without 'em...

  • i FINALLY got a zoom q3 for xmas, so i WILL (at some point) get around to makin' a vid of my method. btw, i ALSO finally (FINALLY!) worked out how to increase a kahler's vol/sustain, & it's quite simple & elegant in design. i've done mine, though i did it using junkyard (4 lack of a better descript) parts', & it does NOT look elegant in it's current form. it IS gonna require the casting of it's parts (well, at least it's main component); the good news is that it SHOULD be only 3 parts totally...

  • Watch all the vids of Gary Kahler setting em' up, Proper setup = no issues.

  • @HerrDehumanized Technically yes, but why not buy a guitar with a FR already on it?

  • @guitarnub3 lol i mean to put 150

  • nice video i am surprised kahler after all these years hasn't really upgraded there tremolo. they sound terrible i mean i can get my can get a non locking trem to stay in tune pretty well and it cost like 35$. but they want people to pay like 350$ for a kahler. no thanks lol
