  • @unapro3 - I have seen Cubs go for a lot less then that, especially in this economy. You could find a nice Cub for under $30. That being said, I know you are never going to build a Bearhawk Partol for the price you have in your head. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor, but remember that most home built airplanes never actually make it all the way to actually flying.

  • @AceLockCo the average price for a J-3 Cub in good condition is around $45K US.I can build a Bearhawk Patrol for around $30K. The Patrol out performs the J-3 in every aspect but still has the same "style" and will be a brand new aircraft, apart from the overhauled engine.

  • @unapro3 - If you can't afford one, you surely can' afford to build one.

  • Love it, I want one......but I can't afford one......so I'm building one, not a J-3 but a Bearhawk Patrol, it's like a J-3 on roids.

  • And now we want to build made-in-China airplanes with glass panels, to always fly IFR at 3500'+ AGL except when takeing off or landing.... May God (and/or Wilber and Orvill Wright) have mercy on us....
