@jonewer What would you call the Polish exile government in London, then? From another perspective - were the Free French forces under General LeClerc the French Army, or an armored division in the British Army staffed by French?
-
@MrPloopy I'd call them squadrons of the RAF staffed by poles. Very good they were too. But they weren't the Polish Air Force.
I know the Poles contributed massively to the allied effort, and they rightly earned themselves a fearsome reputation.
Still not the Polish Air Force though.

@jonewer What do you call Squadrons 300, 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 307, 308, 312, 314, 315, 316, 317, 318, & 601, as well as the Polish Fighting Team known as "Skalski's Flying Circus" in Tunisia in 1943, and Special Operations Flight #5942? This was the Polish Air Force fighting alongside the RAF. Besides, Polish Forces taken together on the Western & Eastern Front were the 4th largest Allied force - larger than the Free French Forces which were mostly Algerians & Moroccans.

I know war is hell, and I don´t wish anyone to experience that, but I wouldt have loved to be present as these old plains came racing across the skies, Just to hear the sound and watch in awe as they made there flybye´s.

I got a lot of images/movies already but if its possible that I can get these too !? Many thanks in advance ! Regards-Hans

@MrPloopy Dont blame us if you cant defend your own damned country.
And there was no PAF fighting "alongside" the RAF. There was just the RAF with some Polish crews, amongst crews from many other nations.
-
MrPloopy - no excuse but the alternative would have been war with Stalin's russia, then we'd probably all been dead by now!
-
That early footage with the sand dunes - Borkum.

Are these the bombers that dropped leaflets on Germany in September 1939? If so, Poland thanks Britain very much for living up to our mutual treaty! Remember that the PAF fought alongside the RAF from the Battle of Britain onwards! Then, Winston, between puffs of his cigar & sips of whisky, sold us out to Joe at Yalta with a few scribbles on a map!
what is this music from?
