@irustyw sd I agree! You can't eat horns. It's a nice bonus but if you're hunting for meat, a middle aged doe can't be beat. Bucks, if they're rutting, are a whole lot stronger, meat wise. Fresh venison backstrap is hard to beat. Fresh liver and onions, fried in butter is even harder to beat. Enjoy. And kudo's for involving your daughter. That's the way the legacy continues.

That was awesome! Well done! I like hunting buck but a nice doe is always fun too! Nice shot! i am only 14 but i LOVE hunting... I have just started being interested in hunting like a month ago and the only thing that I have shot is a couple of birds and a racoon... Got any suggestions for me?

Tank you. I don't hunt for antlers. i hunt for food. So a deer to me is is a deer . If it has horns it makes it better we have a doe rush around us anyway. Way to many does! suggestion: talk yto you parents about it. if they agree have them bring you to a hunter safety course first. then start getting in the woods to see where and how the animals you want to target are moving. i strted out with small game such as squirrel and rabbits. Good Luck my friend
