John Carmack on PS3

At least PS3 has variety in games, all 360 has is nothing but shooters as for as exclusives are concerened, apart from the odd different game here and there. I wouldnt care less if 360 has the better graphics inside it, so did SNES, but it couldnt run Sonic as the CPU was crap compared to sega's machine. get some more original games like PS3 has and I will start playing the 360, otherwise ill just play 360 games on PC, which xbots seem to forget about owners of a PS3.

It's not a PC architecture...it's more a PowerMac architecture (which is why the first few thousand 360 dev kits were PowerMac G5s). What helped was MS using the Direct X API and other Windows elements that any devs who made Windows titles were readily familiar with.

Yes, Carmack said it 3.5 YEARS AGO, when dev tools were fairly mediocre and not as complete as desired. Hardly surprising.

It has twice the theoretical floating point power. In general calculation terms the 360 is doing around 3 times more because it has 3 general purpose processors instead of one.

Plus the 360 has an advantage when it comes to the GPU as well, having a unified shader model and better memory management.

But lets be honest, they are both consoles.
They are pretty pathetic compared to a PC.
