  • Sounds like the two "halves" of the base-plate snap together. Have you tried taking the Ext. back off? Any issues? Any pinching with it installed? Thx.

  • @Trashbilly I haven't tried taking it off but i'm sure you can. The only issue I have had with it is sometimes the slide doesn't lock back on last round due to the extra spring travel. Really wish it came a little bit stronger spring, but it feeds and fires just fine.

  • @crisco723 Thanks, I was wondering about using the same spring. Could Kel Tec be putting in a heavier spring in the "complete" Ext Mags they sell??? I read a post today where a guy thinks he can get +2 if he trims the original spring... that sounds like a bad idea. T

  • @Trashbilly Yea that sounds bad, I hope they have a spare replacement spring handy. I didn't know they sell the magazine with the +1 extension, I would think they have the stock spring also, but you would probably have to ask kel-tec for the right answer

  • Thanks, yea I will get some footage shooting it and will post it within a few days. It only adds around half an inch to the grip so carrying concealed still works perfectly, helps on the draw too!

  • Tip! Just put the front half on the mag, then load the 8 rounds. If the last round won't go, you can still take the mag apart. Once you snap the rear piece on, it will not come off, so you can't take the mag apart.

  • I just got my +1 extension a few weeks ago. I like the feel of it in my hand a lot better! Even with the extra inch it gives, you can't even tell I have it on me when I conceal carry. Oh and what did you have to do to get your slide that color. I like it a lot.

  • @DemonHide Thanks for the heads-up. I have yet to purchase a +one, but, I will keep your troubles with it in mind. In my experience, plastic pieces tend to break or just not come back apart easily when snapped together, especially if they are meant to stay together under pressure. I had a similar problem with an 9mm XDM mag. The spring had been reversed from the factory. I reseated it and all is well.... T

  • @Trashbilly To interject here: I bought the + extension some months ago and just tested it out today. For my PF-9, the performance was unsatisfactory. Almost every round jammed during the feeding process. The standard mags and pinky extension were flawless, so I know it's the +1 extension causing the problem.

You mentioned taking it off. I can't do it. Maybe I'm stupid, but I'm pretty sure its <1mm too thick, and the bottom of the magazine is locking it in place. It's frustrating.

  • I got one too... Totally Changed the feel of the gun, THANKS KEL TEC!

  • Ty for the vid

  • Great demo, so glad you put this on youtube already. This will make my PF9 that much better. Are you going to make a shooting video with it on there?
