Q) Hey I been thinking about buying a Gateway P-7805u laptop but how good is it.I want a laptop that can run the latest games at near high quality. So could you tell me if this is a good lap top to buy and may what games your running on it so I could have a idea.

A) The Gateway P-7805u FX Edition Laptop is one of the highest rating laptops on the market today. The games I play are Crysis, Crysis warhead, Crysis wars, Grid and Dirt. Which are some of the most graphics hungry games out there. I can play all these games on there fullest graphics settings, Very High or Ultra High for Dirt and Grid. The filters are up to you, to me these games look amazing with out filters. Grid and Dirt, all the filters are up but not on Crysis. Due to a lot of memory leaks, filters on Crysis are really no use but the crytech Engine that runs Crysis has its own filters that go along with what graphics settings you play at. The 4gb of Ram and 1GB of Video Ram help out more than ever. Plus a new driver for the GeForce 9800m GTS was sent out April 30th. Now the physics on the card is finally took hold of for its full power. The games run very very smooth and I think Alienware now has something to worry about with this Laptop being on the market. The price and performance out stands some of the Alienware laptops. So truly this laptop is a 9.4 out of 10.

  • whats the difference between this laptop and the Gateway® P-7815u FX Edition?

  • @digidog506 Little bit bigger Hard Drive at 500GB and Intel Dual Core 2 cpu

  • dude this laptop pisses me off I got it and it will get very hot underneath can I fix it anyhow? and do any of you know where do I get thre drivers for it? cuz I wanna install windows 7

  • The laptop does get hot underneath from the hard drive and GPU, but it does not get no more than 120 Degrees which is normal. If you check your laptops temp. and its between 120 - 135 Degrees, don't Fret, that's normal. If you want to cool it down just buy a laptop cooler like Antec's for example. Since this is a powerful laptop it is going to get warm, it's the same way with Alienware's laptops and Asus Gaming Laptops. But there's no need to be alarmed when it gets hot underneath it.

  • I am very much getting this. But I wonder if this laptop is durable and have good heat management.

  • The heat management isn't too bad but I went ahead and bought the Antec cooler so the Motherboard would last longer and to help during long hours of gaming. As for it being durable, with any gaming laptop, treat it like a Nuclear Warhead. The laptop can survive a good drop off a table but not too say nothing won't chip off.

  • is it strange that i have a boner?

  • I got this laptop, I had no problems until now since i have installed windows 7. this laptops heats up way to fast now.. even just browsing the internet it heats and if i play games like mw2 i could probally cook few eggs on my laptop. Need a solution

Had bought a new cooling pad last month which already got spoilt because of the extreme heat generating.

  • Not a bad laptop but to bad the company went bankrupt. Don't know why the products seem to be ok as Acer said. Acer purchased the company and said the product appears to be as good as if not better than theres.

  • @TechGuyGamer so wich is better?

  • @nejikon its 700...

  • Listen guys... all you have to do is buy a small fan (probably cheaper than the laptop heater) and tilt it using books or something so it blows right on your laptop. Put your laptop on top of two books but leave most of the bottom of the laptop free from clutter so the air from the fan can blow underneath to cool the components. I purchased a laptop cooler and I will never do so again because it broke and it DOES NOT COOL THE LAPTOP. Trust me... USE A FAN. It keeps my p7805 very cool.

  • how much?
