i hope macie is getting much better. my baby cousin had infantile spasms when she was a baby, but since then, she has gotten much better.

Hi my daughter had infantile spasms when she was nearly 5 months old, she was having 6 episodes a day and was treated also with the drug ACTH she is now a heathly 19 year old

Just wondering what kind of tests the hospital did to find out what your little one had. My 8 month old son has started getting these spasm/shudder type movements. We took him to hospital had some tests done and an MRI. They said they couldnt find anything in the MRI and the other test (it was an ECG, or EKG, or EEG test im not sure) they didnt find anything there either. Just wondering.

does she have teeth already she looked to little to have teeth.

It must pretty hard to distingush between a spazm attack and just baby movements.

ohh poor baby i dont know why theese baby have theese i would like to study that when i grow up but its so sad to me

if anyone is curious.. there is an extrely rare illness that MIGHT be the cause of these spasms.. called MoyaMoya. when the blood vessels that send blood to the brain get closed off, and no blood can get to the brain, causing strokes, serizures. and if left untreated, it can be fatal. hopes this helps.

Our son has very similar episodes and has not been diagnosed. Did you ever receive an offical diagnosis for Macie's spasms? Best of luck, she is beautiful.

yes, macie's spasms are called infantile spasms, they have since stopped since we used ACTH injections on her. she has had no seizures since may 19, 2007. Macie sustained a brain injury during birth due to a nurses mistake. i hope your son has a diagnosis now. best of luck to you.
