Nice rendition! Notice he uses the lyric that was a publisher's mistake: "you and me" at the end of the chorus instead of the original "me and you."

This was not from a movie. This was taken from the Gene Autry tv show. 95 episodes were aired in 1950 to 1953

This is from a 1935 or 1936 Movie. Probably Republic Pictures. Do you know rthe name of the movie? That song is not credited in any movie he made.

@preservationhall01 With Pat in it I would figure it to be from a TV show from the 50's. What do you think? Charlie

@navydoctrinidad Thanks to your clue I found it. He had purchased rights to the song in 1936 to sing in a Republic movie. Apparently the Sons of the Pioneers and Roy Rogers had such success with the song, Gene didn't use it until 1950. Did find that he sang the song in the Gene Autry TV show titled Gun Powder Range which first aired 10-29-50 on CBS stations. Your upload has to be from that program.

@preservationhall01 Great work. I knew that he owned the song but I didn't know the details. He also owned Ghost Riders In The Sky. I hope to post that next week. Interesting story. I loved all his work including the TV shows. The Western Channel shows a Gene movie every Sunday at 12:00 noon. Thanks for watching. Charlie
