Has the pleasure of meeting Meb and watching him summer of '09 in San Diego. He ran past me at Lake Miramar running 4:53/mi pace. It was pretty damn amazing.

If you can't tell, he actually isn't heel-striking. He's landing flat footed which is how you land when your'e barefoot. No elite runner, especially marathoner has bad enough form that they heel-strike.

This guy is bad ass, hardcore specialization at work.

His got all that amazing scenery around him and he gets stuck staring at the pace makers butt xD!
-
thats like my 800 pace... on a good day

@holzkiewuf It is just a matter of time before he gets injured. No doubt he has an insane amount of talent and strength, but running with even slightly incorrect form will eventually hurt everyone.

What a runner..
Meb if you ever get bored of the mountains and lakes come to London, I'll be happy to show you around (on a bike..)
-
I cannot help watching this video again and again.

The real name of the song is "Daniz - Ready 4 War"
people sit on their assess for a lifetime, then they go buy born to run and those f--ing foot gloves and then come giving suggestion on foot strike to elites on youtube

The best place to strike your foot is the place that leaves YOU uninjured. For most people it's the midfoot. If Meb is a heel-striker, I'm not sure trying to alter the stride that has medaled in the Olympics is the wisest course of action.
