  • I haven't seen any video that says that they get the same medication as I do - In Norway called Ritalin - very similar (but not the same) as Methamphetamine. I almost call it "speed" (as the drug) as I get awake and full of energy. It totally changed my life. Anyone who use the same thing or have seen vids with people who does?

  • I tried Ritalin, but I might as well have been just drinking water. Didn't do a thing to me. Now, in addition to Xyrem, I take high doses of dextroamphetamine. Much more potent and seems to keep me awake enough to at least function in life. But I wouldn't be where I am now without Xyrem. That gives me more of a boost than any of my medications. Without it the dextroamphetamine would be useless.

  • It has been about two years since I was diagnosed, I have severe narcolepsy and severe cataplexy, it sucks. I really hope that there will be a cure in the future. I guess things could be a lot worse, I would rather have these problems then a lot of other things.

  • I was swimming a few years ago. Me and my sisters snuck out to go swimming in the summer at around 4am...We got to the pond and when I went under, I fell into a deep deep sleep and the hullications seemed so calming and peaceful i thought i was dying. i saw beautiful castles, starfish that shone bright, etc...i felt...perfectly normal and then it all rushed away as i was being drug back to shore by my sister and gasping for air. It's hard to do much as a Narcoleptic.

  • @qwertydogson You nailed it on the head

  • I should probably take Xyrem for cataplexy but why take something that is eventually going to wear off? None of these medications ever really fix the problem they just mask the symptoms while the drug companies make a massive profit. Sickening to the say the least

  • @Tygggrr Provigil brought depressing feelings to me... and I have never been depressed. I am in grad school and while tough I have been able to overcome. It takes a lot to do it though...

  • @BckWoo i just got diagnosed with narcolepsy, im taking modafilin at the mo waiting for more sleep studies, lucky for me i only have a mild version.

  • I was diagnosed with narcolepsy-cataplexy two months ago, and I'm going through different medication now. Provigil worked really well, but I had to stop taking it because of the side effects. I haven't been to school for two years now, and I'm extremely stressed of the whole situation. Also, I haven't seen the sun in many months now. I live in Finland, so now in January the sun sets at 4pm, when I'm still asleep. Right now my life is a depressing haze, but atleast there's some hope now.

  • WeeD ??

  • @triggerhappygunnerm I take 30mg of Ritalin everyday. I can really say it saved my life. Or at least it gave me one. I lost my first year on my engeneering course just sleeping. It was awful and nobody could understand why that stupid mtf was sleeping at Calculus classes.

  • @triggerhappygunnerm

  • @TheAdmano Are you the guy in the university teaching program? Talk to me. I was a history teacher for the last 2 decades and I have narcolepsy.
