Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has said Kenya is a sovereign state and deserves recognition and respect globally as an independent entity.

Mr. Musyoka noted that it is unwise for a friendly country and development partner to interfere with the countries internal affairs, saying that Kenya has the capability and potential

of addressing challenges facing it without undue influence by foreigners.

"Kenyan deserves respect and recognition both locally and internationally. We are an independent state and we are in a position to manage our affairs well and need no interference from any quarters" he said.

The VP was addressing the nation during the 47th Jamhuri day celebrations graced by President Mwai Kibaki at the Nyayo stadium.

Mr. Musyoka said Kenya has great potential and capability to address her social economic and developmental challenges without necessarily depending on resources and advices including coercion from outsiders.

He urged all road users to observe traffic regulations during this festive season in order to minimize incidents of road carnage and give chance to Kenyas to enjoy the holidays.

The VP took the opportunity to wish Kenya's a merry Christmas and happy prosperous new year 2011.

  • @malikmakonnen You're Ethiopian (American by birth). What plagues and pursues us on an inner level has a way of manifesting itself in our environment in the form of people, and issues that seem to be beyond our control. These external expressions are reflections of our insides, and its inside ourselves that we can safely try surrendering to what we fear and dislike. Opening to what we fear may feel scary. But the more we learn to surrender, the more the demons that plague us disappear. Peace!
