Developing nuclear powers simply means becoming dependent on another finite, non-renewable energy source - a very expensive and dangerous one at that.
get out of debt, put solar panels on your house, and plant a vegetable garden and see all these right wing nut jobs go bankrupt if they can't enslave you in some way they lose all their power
It's being proven in many countries around the world that a combination of solar and wind renewable energy -with a touch of hydro and geo thermal is taking over their energy needs. All we need to do is try. It's a proven fact that oil and coal are a finite energy source. Give it 100 years and they'll be long gone. Nuclear is just not an option due to its waste being dangerous for 100,000 years! We HAVE to get renewables up and running soon or it will be too late! Also Google Molten salt!
Would you buy a used car from this man. In the interview Amory Lovins said "What nuclear would do is displace coal, our most abundant domestic fuel." He goes on from there to push fossil fuel co-generation (he calls it micro power which sounds much cuter).
Even if an occasional nuclear incident didn't eventually happen, when they work perfectly toxic waste comes out the other end of them! So, anyone who knows what to do with this waste (that will be piling up faster than we know what to do with it), please cast your vote for Nuclear! If you are the one person who has solved this problem, then you should be the person who can tell others that they have to have it in their back yards! Otherwise, VOTE FOR CLEAN RENEWABLES!!!
Wow. You actually believe that God gave us brains to sit around and NOT use them? Destroying the world that was put here for us using poisons and toxins for energy is the work of satan! God's desire for us to grow beyond that to where the sun's own rays and the flowing of air and water becomes our energy is the true goal. I'm sorry that you have been blinded by satan. I'll pray for you.
I'm sorry but it's silly to assume that the wind will be blowing during peak hours. In California it typically blows in the middle of the night. Current wind installations depend on a combination of hydroelectric and natural gas fired power plants to stabilize the grid, but wind generation beyond 20% of the electrical grid would require massive storage. Wind energy is not a bad idea, but people should keep in mind that it is expensive and it is not an optimum source of power.
Another thing. Isn't it fishy that the government and monopoly energy is so closely tied together? Would you be so happy about that if it was your sill $20 a month cell phone company? When these little guys make a monopoly and don't innovate and charge you more and more every year we all get bent out of shape, but UTILITY companies are different, right? Please tell me how?

energy needs to be in the hands of the people more and more: small, local stations with a variety of energy sources that work for each locality.
lunacy. why is this debate coming up again when nuclear was phased out???? waste of time. we've been through it all before.
