  • @tracygeri It is on a CD SLOvenian and CROatian Polkas & Waltzes. The Slovenian music is by The Bill Bevec Orchestra and the Croatian by The Polka Quads. The Polka Quads did The Waltz of the Wind.

  • Nice narration of the Slovenefest 2008, Can me tell me the artist of the last song on your presentation, the song I believe is entitled "Waltz of the Wind"

    Thanks

  • hehe, bodo še ljudlje mislili, da se samo polko pleše v Sloveniji:D:D

  • Excelsiors 721, Aliquippa, PA!

  • There was no "pathetic Ilyric movement" (whatever that means). The founders did not want to imply any pan-Slavic ambitions; they were organizing for the Slovenes in the USA. The founders of what would eventually become SNPJ had been members of Czech or Bohemian societies prior to organizing the SNPJ - they learned the business of managing a fraternal society hands-on. They decided to use Jednota because the other societies used it. It became a word accepted in the Slovenian-American lexicon.

  • LODGE 449! represent from Chicago!

  • But why? What was the reason, was that some kind of pathetic Ilyric movement even in USA?

  • Can you please post the song list for this video? I'd love to get some of the music on disk.

  • You are correct - the founders chose that word on purpose back in 1904.
