UPDATE:
After roughly 2 months I got the phone back. The problem was fixed under the warranty.
The screen had to be replaced.
SonyEricsson call centre denied that they had ever heard of this problem. I talked to 3 people telling me this exactly same thing. BUT-When callin SonyEricssons main repeair center in Norway they said that this hardware problem was on about the entire first shipment to Norway. The service person also said that SonyEricsson by now way was NOT aware of this problem. SO: SonyEricsson lied to me on the phone several times.
AND: if this hardware problem was on the entire first shipment, then there is probably lots of phones out there that havent been repaired. SonyEricsson should recall all the phones that they KNOW have this issue. These phones are a "time bomb" waiting to break down. But, they of course will not do this, because they are trying to avoid any responsibility and the associated costs ;).. Way to go SonyEricsson.!!!
OLD TEXT:
Do not buy a sony ericsson aino unless you want very much trouble and wasted money.
Since getting my SonyEricsson Aino in december, paying $600 of norwegian Crowns, the phone has never been completely functioning for more than a couple of hours.
Firstly the problems manifested like this:
Within 1-2-3 hours the touchscreen stopped working, though it would still power off the screen. I expected new, better software upgrades to arrive, which would fix the problem, and decided to wait.
Recently I decided to do the software upgrade. After that the touchscreen havent worked. And thats not all, IT WILL NOT POWER DOWN. This drains the entire battery during 8+ hours workday.
There certainly are many many more problems with the phone, but Ill discuss those later.
Until now I havent seen any communications from SonyEricsson. Ive both contacted them on email and tried viewing their Aino-page. THat page does not offer ANY information. THe AINO page is COMPLETE propaganda/commercial. Is this a common issue? They dont say. The should, though....
Ive seen other people on the internet havin EXACTLY the same problem. How come they dont divulge any info on this?
I am advising everyone to NOT BUY Aino. Or any other Sony Ericsson phone for that matter. They simply do not communicate with their customers.
In the video I prove the problem of my Aino. Ive done the software upgrade 6-7 times. THe phone do not turn out any better.
In the video I demonstrate that the touchsscreen does not work. I also power down, remove battery for 30 sec and power up again. Still the touchscreen is unresponsive and wont power down. The button on top of the phone which normally should power down the screen does not respond.
I have used my aino for 3 years and it is still perfect.
